A former special education teacher, Texas-born, Mexican-American Sheila Herrera, manages projects for urban school districts and state education agencies. She lives in Florida where she devotes time every day to writing picture books that celebrate her Latino heritage. Sheila loves tall tales and is also passionate about helping other kidlit writers. She recently completed her first agent internship. Sheila is unpublished at this time.
